Knowledgebase Searching recommendationsWhen you log into the Knowledgebase initially, the Home Page and Knowledgebase solutions displayed will be specific to the Primavera Products that are registered with your serial number. You can open the 'My Products' tab under 'Product Maintenance' on the Left side of the screen to get a list of your registered Serial numbers and see which Primavera Products they are registered to. Below are some options and recommendations to improve your Search. Change Search CriteriaYou can refine your search to specific Oracle Primavera products by clicking the "Change Search Criteria" and selecting the specific Oracle Primavera product you want to search on. Use shorter queriesThe Knowledgebase relies on the wording in your query to find the solutions with the highest ranking and display those at the top of the list. Many of our solutions have some of the Words, Phrases and Statements you are searching on, but may not have all of them. The Knowledgebase search algorithm lowers the ranking when it doesn’t find a match of ALL of your Search words or statements and lowers the priority. Recommendations
Do Not Abbreviate KeywordsWhen typing the words or phrases in your query, use the Long form of the word to have a higher probability of finding a solution instead of using an abbreviation – especially if you're not finding a solution when using the shorter form. Our knowledgebase solutions will typically have the long form of keywords and phrases, but may not have the abbreviations of the words or Phrases. Phrases like 'EPS (Enterprise Project Structure)', and 'WBS (Work Breakdown Structure)' are OK to use when searching since these abbreviations are common Project Management terms and are used in the software. Abbreviations that are not specific to Project Management Terminology such as WIN for WINDOWS or SP3 for Service Pack 3 are not likely to be used in a solution and should be avoided. Recommendations Knowledgebase/Query ResultsRunning a Query in the knowledgebase returns a list of 'Solutions Found' that are relevant to your search criteria - including a list of results under the title of "Product Documentation" which is from our product documentation. When you open a documentation link, the exact page that references your search query is opened for you. If none of the solutions found appear to address your problem or question, you can refine your search by adding additional, relevant information at the bottom of the Knowledgebase/Query Result screen. For example, refine your search by adding additional information, such as "Using Custom Data Items". You can also start a new search by unchecking your original query on the Search Summary line at the bottom. Using this method retains any specific Product search criteria selected. When you select "New Search" on the Left hand menu - you truly get a new search and all you searching criteria is erased including any Product selected. Top solutionsTop solutions show the most frequently viewed/used solutions in our database.
